Towne Singers in concert in Pasadena in June

On June 13, the Towne Singers will present their 24th annual spring concert, From Sea to Shining “C”: A Celebration of American Composers. Come travel with us through the musical sounds of the Big Band era, American spirituals, folk songs, and a smattering of your favorite show tunes. Dancers from Rose City Ballroom will trip the light fantastic to the “Best of Duke Ellington.” Act I will close a reverberating rendition of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

The honor roll of American Composers brings together a blend of tradition and modern innovation: Stephen Foster, Sondheim, Gershwin, and of course Aaron Copland, along with Eric Whitacre, who is fast becoming the most performed and popular composer of his generation.

Our menu of ticket prices is unchanged and makes it possible for all age groups to attend: $15 in advance, $8 for children (age 10 and under), $12.50 for groups of 15 or more and students with ID, and $20 at the door. Tickets may be ordered by calling (818) 952-7402 or via the Towne Singers’ web site, www.TowneSingers.org/purchase.html.

So come see the Towne Singers, a 100-plus member community choir, on June 13. You’ll have a delightful afternoon of fun, nostalgia, and great American songs. See you there!
