Snow & Voices new album now available

Snow & Voices announce the release of their third CD Anything That Moves May 25, 2010 on their own independent Elastic Ruby Records distributed by Junketboy/Coalition of Independent Music Stores.

Their third album to date, Anything That Moves is a multi-layered aural landscape created by the collaborative duo of singer-songwriter Lauri Kranz and her songwriting partner, multi-instrumentalist Jebin Bruni (Aimee Mann, Fiona Apple). The album features eight original songs written by Kranz and Bruni, with the exception of their cover of the Red House Painter's (Mark Kozelek) "Mistress" making an appearance.

Kranz and Bruni pull together a stellar collective of Los Angeles area musicians who contribute their skills to Snow & Voices, both live and in their recordings. The talent pool for Anything That Moves includes Joey Waronker (Thom Yorke, Beck, REM), Joshua Grange (KD Lang, Dwight Yokaum),Chris Bruce (Michelle Ndegeocello, Joe Henry), Jennifer Condos (Ray Lamontagne, Ryan Adams), Blair Sinta ( Damien Rice, My Brightest Diamond), Cedric LeMoyne (O+S, Remy Zero), Gregory Slay (Remy Zero), Jeffrey Cain (Dead Snares, Remy Zero),Vanessa Freebairn-Smith (Gnarls Barkley) and Brian MacLeod (Paul Westerberg, Sheryl Crow). With a collective that is chock full of well known players, Snow & Voices has garnered quite the celebrity following.

Past shows have seen the faces of Quentin Tarantino, Jason Patric and Thandie Newton in the audience. Lauri explains "part of what is exciting about being in Los Angeles is the amazing musicians and friends who live and work here. It was only natural for us to lasso that sense of collective community into our music."

Produced by Jebin Bruni and Darrell Thorp (Radiohead, Beck), Anything That Moves commits the band to the moody dream-pop sound that they have become known for. Mojo described their previous record as "fragile, captivating.....brings Portishead's Beth Gibbons to mind."

With a sound that naturally conjures images, Snow & Voices is also on a mission to further their collective collaboration with conceptual artists in various incarnations to create an experience of music and art as an ever-changing environment. Recently the band teamed up with artist Mathew Heller to create the artwork for their new CD and will be working with video artist Petro Papahadjopoulos (TV on the Radio) for the creation of their new video "Maybe Finland." Look for further collaborative efforts to come in their live performances.

Snow & Voices new CD Anything That Moves is set to release in May 25, 2010, following up 2008's What The Body Was Made For and 2005's self titled debut album. Snow & Voices will play a Saturday night residency at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood on May 1, 15 and 29 with special musical guests playing in the band weekly.
