Murder mystery dinner in Glendora May 22

Blackmail and murder are on the menu when Black Box Books at Village Book Shop and Renaissance Murder Mystery Players present “Country Club Capers” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 22.

Early reservations are recommended because seating is limited and demand is high due to the success of previous murder mystery events.

Tickets are $45 and include a three-course dinner and show at The Village Eatery, 221 N. Glendora Ave., in the Glendora Village. Call the Village Book Shop for tickets and reservations at (626) 335-5720.

“Country Club Capers” takes place on a classically “dark and stormy night,” yet the Country Club is aglow with intrigue. Who is blackmailing who? Someone is “tee’d off” enough to commit murder and there are many suspects. There’s a beautiful girl in the tennis shop, the golf pro fresh from the green and a couple of wealthy members, who are secretly not so rich. Add a beautiful girl, a wealthy bachelor and a security guard and you have an evening of shenanigans and murder.

Audience members will not only enjoy an evening of great food and interaction with cast members, they can help solve the mystery to win a prize.

Ken Salzman, artistic director of the Renaissance Murder Mystery Players, has directed productions from Pomona to Los Angeles, including two years with Renaissance Theater Company in Glendora. He also is teaching acting classes for youth, ages 8 to 18, with the Glendora Recreation Department.

For tickets and more information about “Country Club Capers,” call Deborah Gould, owner of the Village Book Shop, at (626) 335-5720.
