Free concerts, films and tours in Pasadena this summer

One Colorado will kick off a summer of Sounds, Scenes, and Sights on Saturday, June 12, 2010 with KCRW’s Summer Nights series. Performances by Hot Hot Heat and Everest will grace the One Colorado Courtyard and pave the way for the Old Pasadena Film Festival in July and guided walking tours of historic Old Pasadena in August.

KCRW launches the “Summer Nights” series in June with two great free performances at One Colorado amongst the 19th century architecture, cobblestone and charm of Old Pasadena. Hot Hot Heat will deliver a semi-acoustic set of rock and roll fueled by highly infectious melodies on Saturday, June 12 from 7:30 to 9:30pm, hosted by KCRW DJ Dan Wilcox, followed by a set of rollicking Americana from local favorites Everest on Saturday, June 26 from 7:30 to 9:30pm, hosted by KCRW DJ Chris Douridas.

Old Pasadena Management presents the Old Pasadena Film Festival, a free movie series that unites film with urban settings, happening on Friday and Saturday nights in July beginning Friday, July 9, 2010. One Colorado hosts alfresco film screenings in the historic Courtyard as part of the festival. Featuring twelve screenings, the Old Pasadena Film Festival is the largest free outdoor film festival in Southern California.

One Colorado partners with Pasadena Heritage to offer free guided walking tours of historic Old Pasadena. Pasadena Heritage docents will take guests on an exploration of the 19th century and Art Deco architecture that has made Old Pasadena a National Register Historic District and deemed it one of the best examples of downtown revitalization in the country. Guests will learn about the Crown City’s downtown past and influence while experiencing the thriving lifestyle destination that it is today. Tours are every Saturday in August from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Guests must RSVP via www.onecolorado.com.
