"Lost Lady With a Violin" in Hollywood Tuesday

The Festival of New American Musicals will present a World Premiere Concert Staged Reading of “Lost Lady With A Violin,” featuring an Original Story, Book and Lyrics written by Laurie Whitaker, with Music written by Laurie Whitaker and Jeff Lass, under the direction of Jeffrey Polk and under the Musical Direction of Conductor Ron Colvard. The performance will feature live music and Broadway talent.

Prinicipal roles in the cast will be portrayed by: Charlo Crossley, Michael A. Shepperd, Harrison White, Candice Nicole, Jay Donnell, Justin Michael Wilcox and Susan Grace. Featured roles in the cast will be portrayed by: Donald Webber, Jr., Eve Sigall, Theresa Ford, Siri Lorece, Jayme Lake, Christian C. Campbell, Malynda Hale, Joe Hart, Noel Orput, Terrance Thomas, Blesst Bowden and Ashley Marie Arnold.

WHAT: A World Premiere Concert Staged Reading of “Lost Lady With A Violin.” Set in the present day and traveling back to 1944, “Lost Lady With A Violin” tells the epic story of Ellie, a beautiful white concert violinist from Philadelphia, who falls in love with a black Army doctor. She gives up everything to marry him and moves to South Carolina. It’s a story of love, faith and the value of promise. The musical score features ballads, gospel songs and tunes set in a 1940’s swing style.
