Protagonist gear stolen while recording new album

Yesterday, gritty punk rockers PROTAGONIST entered the studio with producer/guitarist Stephen Egerton (of Descendents and ALL). The band will bunker down in Tulsa, OK at his Armstrong Recording studio to record their second album for Paper + Plastick Records. The band’s latest release, Chronicle, was released digitally last year by P+P and will be seeing a physical release on vinyl this year.

As the band rolled into Tulsa over the weekend, the band’s trailer was stolen on Monday, May 31st from a parking lot near their hotel. Having lost their gear and merch totaling over $22,000, Protagonist have issued a statement with a complete list of items missing, and a plea for help and support from fans and the punk rock community (for contact information or to donate, see below).

The band have a number of shows this June, including dates with Less Than Jake and The Menzingers, and are unsure if they will be cancelled. For updates, check the bands Twitter: http://twitter.com/ProtagonistFL

Statement from Protagonist
We're all a little scatter-brained and shocked right now, so I don't even know where to begin. Our trailer was stolen off of our van sometime between 5-7:30am yesterday morning from a Days Inn Airport Hotel/Denny's parking lot in Tulsa, OK. The van was parked on the right side of our hotel room in a very well lit parking lot that the hotel shares with a Denny's Restaurant. That lot is where the hotel asked us to park it, and the staff at the 24-hour Denny's told us the van would be safe there as well. But we were wrong. The pin lock was somehow removed, the chains were cut, and no trace of the trailer was left behind. We drove 18 hours straight from Florida to Tulsa to record with Stephen Egerton. We were supposed to start early yesterday hence pulling into town Monday evening.
