Shimmy Showcase Sunday

June 13 - The Witching Hour with Alexiis: Do you know what time it is? Is it getting late? What happens when you don't pay attention? Join Alexiis and special guests Good Witch Dance Company, Katerina, La Shonda, Ravenmoon, and Jessica to honor the tipping point from the light into the dark.

Alexiis hopes you all can come to I-Candy Coffee as she coordinates her final Shimmyshowcase. An original Shimmyshowcase founder, Alexiis has shared her many talents as artist, coordinator, website designer and administrator, and, of course, amazing dancer for seven dedicated years. Please join us on June 13 as we say farewell and best wishes to Alexiis in her future artistic endeavors.

Everyone is invited to this cozy haven for a relaxing evening among friends. Select your favorite beverage, hot or cold, from an assortment of coffees, teas, smoothies or juice; add to that a tasty sandwich or pastry; and then seat yourself alongside our magic carpet to enjoy some really great dancing at NO cover charge! If that isn’t incentive enough, there is even a 20% off coupon below good on any I-Candy food or beverage on Shimmyshowcase nights!

The SHIMMY SHOWCASE begins at 7 p.m. at I-CANDY COFFEE in Long Beach (1708 E. Broadway -- 562-437-3785).

Please allow time for parking to avoid missing any of the fun. Since street parking around I-Candy Coffee is scarce, we recommend you try the perimeter of Bixby park located two blocks east of I-Candy Coffee at Broadway and Cherry. Please try to arrive before 7:00 PM (earlier if you’re a performer!) as we try not to start the show until everyone has settled with a tasty beverage.

June 20 – Xandra welcomes guest artists Dancing Flower, Nichole, Meryem Vani, Ana, and Raks Bahlam to our magic carpet on this Summer’s eve. We hope you can join our friendly Shimmyshowcase family at I-Candy to see these fabulous dancers perform.

June 27 – Abraiha welcomes the gorgeous May, Lapis, and Lois to the Shimmyshowcase magic carpet. It’s always a great show when our guests from Dance Garden perform at Shimmyshowcase, and we hope you can join us for a wonderful evening of bellydancing.

July 4— NO SHIMMYSHOWCASE -- Happy 4th of July!

July 11 - What are your dreams? Do they tend toward fantasy or more mundane things? Are they romantic or scary? Are dreams central to your favorite movies? Coordinator Savia and guest dancers Meryem Vani and Veronika will share their dreams interpreted through dance. July 18 – NO SHIMMYSHOWCASE – but Shimmyshowcase coordinator Abraiha is hosting a dinner with middle eastern and Latin dance performances featuring some of our Shimmyshowcase dancers (Marlena, Taji Abraiha) at Luminarias restaurant (www.luminariasrestaurant.com), 323-268-4177; email reservations at reservations071810@yahoo.com .
