Celtic fiddler Eileen Ivers will perform on Friday, November 5, at 8 p.m. in Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium.
Ivers—founding member of Cherish the Ladies, original Riverdance star, and lifelong traveler of Ireland’s musical paths—presents Irish immigrant history through the genres of stories and music.
Ivers has lived the Irish experience from birth. She grew up in the Bronx, the daughter of Irish immigrants, raised on the music of her parents’ homeland. With a talent for mathematics—a field in which she pursued post-graduate studies—Ivers learned how to combine heart and passion with technical precision. Her prowess with the fiddle won her not only nine All-Ireland Fiddle Championships, but also the acclaim of musicians from Sting and The Chieftains to the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, among her many affiliations.
Tickets to this performance are priced at $29.00, $24.00, and $19.00; youth (high school age and younger): $10.00. Senior rush tickets will go on sale for $10.00, beginning one-half hour before the performance (subject to availability). Tickets can be purchased at the Caltech Ticket Office, 332 S. Michigan Avenue, Pasadena.
Parking for Beckman Auditorium is located at 332 South Michigan Avenue, Pasadena (south of Del Mar Boulevard). For information, call (626) 395-4652.
