As Dangerbird celebrates yet another successful year shepherding the careers of up-and-coming independent bands, the label has announced the signing of electro-pop sensations The Limousines. The group is currently prepping their upcoming Dangerbird album for release in spring 2011, and continuing to bolster their schedule with a series of high-profile tours and other live appearances.
The Limousines, featuring songwriter/vocalist Eric Victorino and multi-instrumentalist/producer Giovanni Giusti, first made a mark with their 2009 single “Very Busy People,” which garnered heavy rotation on San Francisco’s Live 105 (KITS-FM) as well as Sirius/XM's Alt Nation station. The San Jose, CA-based duo has since released their debut album, Get Sharp, and has shared the stage with Matt & Kim, Sleigh Bells and Temper Trap, among others. Recently, the band opened for Weezer at their historic Memories tour concerts in San Francisco and will rejoin the tour for shows on January 7th & 8th at Chicago’s Aragon Entertainment Center.
The Limousines’ upcoming Dangerbird release will be supported with the group’s appearance at the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, TX in March.
Co-founded by CEO Jeff Castelaz and Chief Creative Officer Peter Walker in 2004, Dangerbird is now home to more than 30 bands—including Walker’s band Eulogies—and producers, while encompassing six divisions: record label, management, music publishing, merchandising, licensing and a recording studio. Key Dangerbird Records artists include Silversun Pickups, Grammy nominees for Best New Artist, as well as genre-bending buzz band Fitz and the Tantrums, who are currently racing up the charts towards the Top 10 in both Triple-A and Alternative radio formats in major markets across the country. Fellow Dangerbird acts including Canadian alternative rock band Hot Hot Heat and Seattle's Minus the Bear are also making waves with successful 2010 releases on the label.
The upcoming Limousines album will be a highlight of Dangerbird’s 2011 release schedule, which will also include new albums from Eulogies, The Dears, The One AM Radio, and Maritime. Dangerbird Records is a fully-staffed label that embraces each of their bands’ releases, bringing vital music culture to the world by leveraging in-house marketing, radio promotion and licensing, as well as the best independent radio and marketing firms.
