Dear dearest dear Old Californio fans, friends, & family,
Today we announce the pre-order kickoff and crowd funding drive for our upcoming 2011 full length CD / Album release of Sundrunk Angels.
Sundrunk Angels has been an album long in the making, beginning with the initial live recordings at Kevin Jarvis’ studio in November of 2009 through the overdubs, edits, additional tracking at Woody Aplanalp’s home studio, through the final mixing and mastering at Alfonso Rodenas’ Las Virgenes Sound studio in September 2010. Sundrunk Angels is a collection of 10 new songs, that we think builds off of the momentum of 2009’s Westering Again, yet charts it’s own course into new Californio territory.
To release Sundrunk Angels we are asking for your help. In an effort to remain a completely independent band, beholden creatively to no one other than ourselves, as well as building an infrastructure which will allow us to grow and expand our American and European fan base, travel the land and bring our music to you, we have decided to begin a Kickstarter campaign which will begins immediately.
Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover the costs of mixing, mastering manufacturing and distributing the CD version of Sundrunk Angels, the limited edition 180 gram vinyl version with alternate artwork, as well as a full promotional campaign in press, radio and in person. If we are successful in doing this you will have played a major part in the release of Sundrunk Angels and in allowing us to remain an independent band, thirsty to grow and develop into a viable living musical organism.
Kickstarter is a new way to fund creative ideas and ambitious endeavors. Kickstarter is powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded.
We believe in offering you full value in exchange for your help funding the release of Sundrunk Angels. So, here are some of the items we have included in our pre-order kickoff and crowd funding drive:
· The official Sundrunk Angels CD with your name included in the credits in a unique word art format. Since you’ve helped us release this album, you are now forever a part of it.
· Our original 2006 release of the 10 song Along The Cosmic Grass in a hand silk screened custom cover.
· A 10 song CD of Old Californio Rarities 2002 -2010 in a hand silk screened custom cover. This collection includes live performances, unreleased songs, and original demos from Westering Again, Sundrunk Angels and beyond.
· The official 180 Gram vinyl release of Sundrunk Angels with a Free digital download of the album with alternate artwork by Claudia Galvan.
· A limited edition Old Californio Sundrunk Angels T-shirt in the size and color of your specification.
· An Old Californio concert in your home or location of your choosing (within reason, naturally. The void of space or in a 10 x 10 box might be a bit difficult)
