NPR Music releases best albums of 2010 list

Popular rock acts dominate NPR Music’s sixth annual All Songs Considered “Listener Picks for Best Albums of 2010,” announced today. Thousands of All Songs Considered listeners voted in the highly anticipated year-end list, naming The Suburbs by Canadian band Arcade Fire their favorite record. Blues-inspired duo The Black Keys capture second place, with The National, Mumford & Sons, and Broken Bells rounding out the audiences’ Top 5 albums of the year. In addition to familiar favorites, some notable newcomers caught the attention of All Songs Considered’s listeners, including noise-pop twosome Sleigh Bells, indie-folk band Local Natives and Janelle Monae’s inventive mix of hip-hop and pop.
