Jazz series kicks off at La Quinta March 27

Following a highly successful fall 2010 line-up, La Quinta Resort & Club’s “Grooves in the Grove” jazz series is back by popular demand, and gets underway Sunday, March 27, and continues through Friday, May 6, 2011. This season’s sizzling spring schedule features vocalist Deniece Williams, singer and guitarist Ray Parker Jr., acoustic guitarist Jonathan Butler and trumpeter Rick Braun, among others.

Showcasing an array of styles and talents, the al fresco series produced by Apaulo Music Productions, takes place on La Quinta Resort’s expansive Main Lawn – set amidst fragrant gardens against a stunning backdrop of the Santa Rosa Mountains.

The four-week performance schedule is as follows:

Sunday, March 27, 3 to 5 p.m. – Deniece Williams, Ray Parker Jr., Gregg Karukas, Freddie Washington

Sunday, April 10, 3 to 5 p.m. – Jonathan Butler with Brian Simpson Band

Friday, April 22, 7 to 9 p.m. – Paul Taylor and Steve Oliver

Friday, May 6, 7 to 9 p.m. – Rick Braun with Michael Paulo
