LOCATION: Pasadena City College (Main Campus), 1570 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA.
The Campus Center Building (CC) is next to the parking lot. We'll be meeting in the Creveling Lounge, which is on the top floor. There are elevators as well as stairs. There is a bridge walk-way from the drop-off turn around to the building. Cross the bridge and turn left, go through the double doors and turn immediately right and you're at Creveling Lounge.
EASTBOUND ON THE 210 Fwy.: Exit #27 Hill Ave., stay strait on Corson St., turn RT onto N. N. Hill Ave., cross Colorado Blvd., (parking is at the corner of S. Hill Ave. and E. Colorado Blvd.) turn left at Green St. into the drop-off turn around. The entrance to the Staff-Guest Parking is on the north or left side of the turn around.
WESTBOUND ON TH 210 Fwy.: Exit #27A Hill Ave., stay strait and go onto E. Maple St., turn left onto N. Hill Ave., cross Colorado Blvd (parking is at the corner of S. Hill Ave. and E. Colorado Blvd.), turn left at Green St. into the drop-off turn around. The entrance to the Staff-Guest Parking is on the north or left side of the turn around.
PARKING: The parking lot is at the corner of S. Hill Ave. and E. Colorado Blvd. Park in the Staff- Guest Parking Lot #1. Enter off S. Hill Ave. at Green St. the entrance to the Staff-Guest Parking is on the north or left side of the turn around. Make sure you get a parking ticket or you will be ticketed. Get a permit from the permit dispensers and put the receipt on your dashboard inside the vehicle. Tickets cost $2.00, bring crisp $1 bills.
MORNING PROGRAM
10:30 - NOON: SARAH H. JACKSON MY JOURNEY AS A TEXTILE ARTIST
A lifelong interest in art and textiles led Sarah to the University of Kansas where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, textile design emphasis. A production weaver, she has worked on commission through interior designers and furniture stores as well as selling through retail venues. Passionate about color and texture, Sarah's interests also include silk dyeing, quilting, and reconstructed clothing. Her work has been published in Handwoven, Altered Couture, and Haute Handbags magazines.
THIS MONTH'S WORKSHOP: NOV. 20 (ONE DAY)
SAHRA H. JACKSON - FABULOUS FASHION REMIXTurn ordinary into extraordinary! In this inspired, imaginative workshop, participants will create a one-of-a-kind, art to wear tunic. Building on a base of ready-made clothing, participants will learn how to cut, remix, and reconstruct garments for maximum design potential. No pattern necessary. I will provide sample garments and lots of creative ideas using straightforward construction techniques. No kit fee

COST PER DAY: $60 for members, $70 for non-members

WAC EVENT: "Wearable Art Connection Celebrates 20 years of Wearable Finery" WAC has been invited by the Road to California to have an exhibit at their Conference, Jan. 19-22, 2012.
2. WAC ANNUAL CHALLENGE "TEAR IT UP" - Rip it, Tear it, Shred it, Burn it! This years challenge is all about raw edges and what you can do with them and what they can do for you.
3. WAC-NEWS SUBMISSION GUIDELINES -
WAC has a 24 page newsletter that is published quarterly: February, May, August & November.
Email deadline is the 14th of the month before publication.
