Guitar Center, the world’s largest musical instrument retailer, is furthering its commitment to educate and inspire musicians with the addition of Recording Made Easy – Pro Tools® 10. Starting in June, the workshops, which launched in 2011, offer weekly recording classes that aim to teach musicians how to record at home on their personal computers.
“With ‘Recording Made Easy’, we are aiming to demystify home recording for musicians and help them overcome the initial barriers that often arise during the home recording process.” says Guitar Center’s Karam Kaul. “Our goal is to empower more musicians to take their music from an idea to a finished song by removing the intimidation factor.”
Guitar Center and Avid® have worked in partnership to ensure that the techniques used in each class are the best and most up-to-date instruction available for the beginning recording artist. Each Guitar Center instructor is put through a rigorous training program, including in-person, online, and live webinar training.
“Avid is thrilled to be a part of Guitar Center’s ‘Recording Made Easy’ classes, said Avid’s Cathy Timmerman. “We look forward to educating aspiring and emerging artists with key Pro Tools 10 software techniques that will help them unleash their creativity and realize their music potential.”
Guitar Center’s “Recording Made Easy” workshops are month-long classes with four weekly components covering various aspect of home recording. The workshops are held every Saturday at 10am local time at all 229 Guitar Center locations across the U.S. and are free to the public.
