Insomniac Events will infuse inspiration from the Las Vegas Strip into the imaginative environment of the 16th Annual Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) by curating a one-of-a-kind artistic collaboration between Blue Man Group and Steve Aoki. The creative forces will join together on Saturday, June 9, 2012, during North America’s largest electronic dance music festival. The three-day event is held June 8-10, 2012, at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“Since our debut in the desert last summer, Las Vegas has largely been our muse, and what better way to honor the city than introducing the dynamic Blue Man Group experience to our audience through an original performance with Steve Aoki,” said Pasquale Rotella, CEO and founder of Insomniac. “Aoki is one of the most entertaining DJs to watch as he exudes a raw energy during each set. In bringing these two together, we anticipate this will be an explosive moment at EDC and take the performance to the next level.”
Wildly popular around the world, Blue Man Group defies simple description. This explosion of color, humor, music, and technology comes to life every night in the custom-built Blue Man Group theatre at The Venetian in Las Vegas. The show’s contagious energy engages the audience, thrilling adults and kids alike, a perfect addition to the already immersive EDC environment.
“Electric Daisy Carnival is the ultimate life force, a fully immersive audiovisual experience. A luminescence event of this nature is so much a part of Blue Man Group’s DNA, there really is no better place for us to be,” said Chris Wink, founder of Blue Man Group. “Steve Aoki, whose performance is just as important as his music, presents the perfect partnership as those qualities completely match our own artistic desires. It will be a night of outrageous color, humor, music and technology all on one stage.”
Champagne spraying, stage diving and unmatched energy create an awe-inspiring environment surrounding Steve Aoki’s performances. Aoki is also the founder of Dim Mak Records which will feature its own stage at this year’s EDC Las Vegas.
“I’ve always worked hard to deliver the most entertaining performance possible and what better way to do that than to partner with Blue Man Group for Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas,” said Aoki.
EDC ticket holders will also have the opportunity to experience Blue Man Group at The Venetian for a special price throughout the month of June. Using the code EDC2012, fans can save more than $45 with a complimentary seat upgrade from Red Zone to Blue Zone seating. Ticket prices start at $59 plus tax and service fees and can be reserved by calling 1.800.blueman or visiting www.blueman.com/lasvegas
