The Majestical Roof Boutique and Gallery is pleased to present WHITE BUFFALO, a series of new works by Los Angeles based artist Renelle White Buffalo in what will be her first solo exhibition at the gallery.

Known in the art community for her abstract impressionism of Native American culture Renelle combines a bright color palette with abstract shapes derived from the Lakota culture’s four directions resulting in striking contrasts within the context of a subliminal Native American impression.  Expanding on her exploration of form and space, the artist continues to build upon this body of work in her studio practice, through works on canvas and wooden panels.   White Buffalo’s bold, flat shapes continue to evolve into complex multi-dimensional patterns, often producing intricate illusions that challenge the viewer’s perception of the subliminal object. Her newly exhibitions often include live-art site-specific works created with a freestanding appeal. The accessible quality of White Buffalo’s work connects with a wide audience, much like the nature of her original upbringing.

ABOUT RENELLE WHITE BUFFALO
A member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Renelle White Buffalo puts Native American art in a different perspective. Wanting to educate others about the Native American culture, past and present, White Buffalo paints in an unconventional form advocating the struggle and strength of the Lakota people. White Buffalo also paints to reflect on her personal experience growing up on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota and her reflection on being Native American off the reservation in the city of Los Angeles.
