Steven Roth to open for The Who in LA Jan. 30

The legendary rock band, The Who, selects local LA musician, Steven Roth, to open for their only Los Angeles concert.

It took two years for Steven Roth to get his big break, but by playing-it-forward to benefit The Who’s inaugural Teen Cancer Trust Foundation concert in Los Angeles in 2010; that act of kindness has now come full circle to benefit native Los Angeles musician Steven Roth, as The Who chose him to be their opening act at The Staples Center for their one-night only concert in LA on January 30th.
“It really is a dream and an honor to be opening for [The Who]," states Roth.

Starting his performance career at the age of three, Roth began with his love for music at home, then progressed to musical theater in his schools and local community theater. He maintained an interest in acting for a short while before making music his priority. His supportive family has roots in the Hollywood musical industry and co-own Westwood Music guitar shop.

Roth, a self-proclaimed roots rock, funk, bluesy, soul artist is not only a prolific songwriter, but a unique raspy singer and skilled keyboard player. Steven Roth has been touring the US for the past 4 years with both his former band, Redstone Hall, and more recently as a solo artist. His debut solo album – Let It In – will drop on Tuesday, January 29th. By playing shows like The Who's Teen Cancer Trust fundraising event, Steven exemplifies that if you are patient, work hard, and remember to give back, good things do happen.

The Who is beginning the western states portion of their North American Quadrophenia Tour in Southern California and along with hand-picking Steven Roth to open for them at Staples Center on Wednesday, January 30th; The Who is also promoting the launch of their Teen Cancer America organization; an extension of their UK Teen Cancer Trust Foundation. Tickets for Steven Roth and The Who are available at TicketMaster.com.
