Pacific Asia Museum is seeking new docents to act as leaders, teachers, communicators, and interpreters. Training sessions are offered every two years. The next session will begin September 10, 2013 and continue every Tuesday from 10 am to 2 pm (excluding December) until February 2014. Classes include lectures, gallery training, and homework.
Prospective docents are required to make a minimum three-year commitment, including touring one to four times per month from October through June on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday mornings, and attending monthly Docent Council meetings on select Tuesdays from September through May. Opportunities are also available to volunteer for special tours at other times. Prospective docents must be able to meet the physical demands of walking and standing for one-hour tours.
