Steve Martin & the Steep Canyon Rangers to tour

Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell announced new dates for their upcoming North American summer tour today. Added dates include Virginia's famed Wolf Trap, Pennsylvania's Bryce Jordan Center and a number of venues across the midwest. The highly anticipated tour which kicks off May 22nd in Ft. Myers Florida is the first for Martin and Brickell. The duo will perform new music from their upcoming album Love Has Come For You.

Love Has Come For You, out April 23rd on Rounder Records, features 13 eloquently rootsy compositions that combine Martin's inventive five-string banjo work with Brickell's distinctive vocals and vivid, detail-rich lyrics.

The album, produced by legendary producer Peter Asher (James Taylor, Elvis Costello, Linda Ronstadt), features notable players including rising-star Esperanza Spalding on bass, veteran studio guitarist Waddy Wachtel and Nickel Creek alumni Sara and Sean Watkins.  The album also features the esteemed bluegrass combo The Steep Canyon Rangers with whom Martin recorded his latest Grammy® nominated album Rare Bird Alert.  The Steep Canyon Rangers just won their first Grammy® for Best Bluegrass Album for the album Nobody Knows You. Steve Martin won the 2010 Grammy® in the same category for his debut album, The Crow: New Songs For The Five-String Banjo.

The tour will showcase material from Love Has Come For You along with the unique brand of award-winning bluegrass and comedy that Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers have been delighting audiences with at their sold-out, critically acclaimed shows.
