Miss Derringer announces tour dates

It's not often that a song makes you stop, arch your brow and say, "What the @!*$ is this?" in the same breath as "Whoa, this is heady stuff!" But it isn't every day that you run into a band as infectiously beguiling as Los Angeles' MISS DERRINGER. Performing a dark, lean blend of country twang, blues rhythm and 50s girl-group peppiness fortified with a very healthy punk attitude, these art-poppers are gearing up for a solid tour of the West Coast, including a "free if you're in the know" show at Viper Room on Monday, January 14th . In addition to the West Coast dates, the band has been asked to open for Bad Religion in February (those dates coming soon).
Headed by the husband and wife team of musicians cum-artists, Liz McGrath (herself a reknowned painter and sculptor) and Morgan Slade (guitarist/songwriter), Miss Derringer welds surf, garage, Shangri La-styled girl pop, and punk into a veritable mixture. Like a red '57 Chevy with white walls and fins souped up by the guys on American Chopper, Miss Derringer revs up a modern yet authentic surfy sound that begs for drag races on the beach.
Their current EP, "The Black Tears EP" has been generating lots of attention for the band including covers of LA Weekly and Music Matters and features on Vlaze TV.
The groundbreaking 3-D video for "Black Tears" debuted at Liz's gallery showing for her artwork in December.
The band is currently writing their next album titled Winter Hill, loosely based on the Winter Hill Irish mob war that took place in Boston in the early 1960's.
