Paul Anka is still hot!

Paul Anka will be a special guest on Oprah Winfrey's live show on Wednesday, January 23 in support of his Decca release, Classic Songs, My Way. Anka, as part of the "What Makes America, America" themed show, will be performing several songs including his signature tune "My Way," the Anka-penned theme for The Tonight Show and "The Times of Your Life" which was featured in a classic 1976 Kodak commercial with Anka and his five daughters and also went on to be a Top 10 hit single. Anka and his fiancée, Anna, are balancing raising their two-year-old son with the celebration of Anka's 50 years in show business.

Coming off the success of his Rock Swings CD which is gold in many countries, Classic Songs, My Way is a collection that swings - literally - from a new rendition of "My Way" as a duet with Jon Bon Jovi to "You Are My Destiny," a hit for Anka in 1958, which pairs him with fellow Canadian Michael Buble. Also featured are Anka's big band versions of Billy Joel's "I Go To Extremes," Joni Mitchell's treasure "Both Sides Now," Cyndi Lauper's staple "Time After Time," Duran Duran's "Ordinary World," Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" and, for edgy good measure, The Killers' "Mr. Brightside."

To add to his already busy 2008 schedule, Anka will be releasing an autobiography and his fiancée, Anna, will be releasing her book about staying fit during pregnancy which are both scheduled to be released this year.

Anka has a staggering 900 songs to his credit and over 100 recorded by other artists including Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand, Linda Ronstadt and Robbie Williams, among others. His Billboard chart statistics in the U. S. include three #1 songs: “Diana,” “Lonely Boy,” and “You’re Having My Baby,” as well as 20 Top 20 hits. Having been nominated for an Academy Award for “The Longest Day,” Anka is also recognized for penning signature songs for Buddy Holly – “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore,” Tom Jones – “She’s A Lady,” Donny Osmond – “Puppy Love” and the aforementioned “My Way” for Frank Sinatra.
