Joe Satriani to lead workshops at Guitar Centers

In the next installment of the exciting "GC Sessions" series, Guitar Center welcomes legendary rock guitarist Joe Satriani for a series of national in-store events. Joe will be sharing his experiences and techniques, talking about his signature gear from Ibanez and Peavey and performing songs spanning his entire career including his upcoming album Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock.

Created to promote players with a deep passion for and commitment to the craft, "GC Sessions" seeks to educate, inspire and conserve the tradition and art of rock music.

This music education-based initiative featuring informative, provocative panel discussions and hands-on tutorials serves as an incubator for musicians and provides them with an opportunity to network with their peers and gain insight and knowledge from their heroes in a comfortable and intimate setting. The goal is to help musicians further their musical aspirations and provide tools for career growth.

Known worldwide as a master of rock guitar, Joe Satriani’s legendary career began with the release of the breakthrough album Surfing with the Alien in 1986. Since that time, he has gone on to sell more than 10 million albums and received multiple Grammy nominations, including a nomination in 2008 for “Always With Me, Always With You” from the Satriani Live! album. Satriani is also the power behind the G3 Tour, which is known for bringing together some of rock’s best known guitarists on one stage. The most recent incarnation of the tour in 2007 featured Satriani with John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert. As part of the GC Sessions, Guitar Center has the honor of hosting Satriani’s only appearances scheduled in the US before he departs for an international tour on April 30. Guitar Center will also be celebrating the release of Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock with an exclusive CD/DVD deluxe edition of the release.
