Pennywise to release new effort and headline tour

As PENNYWISE gear up for the March 25 release of their ninth studio album, REASON TO BELIEVE (MySpace Records), the band has announced a spring headlining U.S. tour, shows in Japan and Australia and a string of dates on this summer's Vans Warped Tour. The iconic group--whose new single "The Western World" is on track to be the biggest song of their career--will preface this upcoming national tour with two sold-out intimate club shows on March 26 (The Casbah, San Diego) and March 27 (The Key Club, Los Angeles). Fans can also catch a PENNYWISE television performance on Fuel TV's "The Daily Habit" April 4 before they head overseas. The Hermosa Beach, CA band returns to the U.S. for a special April 17 performance at the Long Beach Grand Prix, followed by their headlining tour launch May 6 in Salt Lake City, UT.
PENNYWISE--JIM LINDBERG (vocals), FLETCHER DRAGGE (guitars), BYRON MCMACKIN (drums) and RANDY BRADBURY (bass)--have also announced that they'll offer a bonus track for download to those who purchase their CD or participate in the free album download. The free high-quality, DRM-free, 320kbps MP3 album download of REASON TO BELIEVE is available to fans worldwide from MySpace beginning March 25 for a period of two weeks for absolutely no cost. This free CD download is possible through a collaboration between PENNYWISE, their new label MySpace Records, MySpace.com and Textango. Instructions for the free bonus track download will be available in the album download and CD packaging.

Meanwhile, the band's first single "The Western World" continues its ascent at radio. It's at #28 this week after debuting at #34 on Billboard's "Hot Modern Rock Tracks" chart last week. PENNYWISE is also garnering early critical acclaim, with ArtistDirect.com calling REASON TO BELIEVE "their best record to date" (Rick Florino, March 17, 2008).
