Life 4 Paws to hold Spring Follies

Life 4 Paws, a non-profit dog rescue group will host the first annual Spring Follies Event on Saturday, April 19, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., at Woodley Park (6335 Woodley Avenue) in Van Nuys. The fun-filled musical, masquerade extravaganza will feature a dog talent competition, costume parade, dancing, face painting and kid friendly activities, flyball demonstrations, food, vendors, prizes, information booths and much more.

“We invite animal lovers of all ages to celebrate this wonderful day with us,” said Lisa Janes, Director of Life 4 Paws. “Spring Follies is a way to bond with the community, promote Life 4 Paws’ dog rescue efforts and available pets, and educate the public on responsible pet ownership, while having loads of fun.”

Life 4 Paws rescues dogs from Los Angeles city shelters, Los Angeles and Ventura County shelters and occasional owner turn ins. All dogs are put into foster homes where they are evaluated and rehabilitated prior to being placed in their forever home. Life 4 Paws also provides life saving medical care to dogs in need. The non-profit group relies on funding that comes from donations in order to sustain their rescue efforts.

Registration is required to enter dogs into competitions. Visit www.life4paws.org to register your pet before April 10. A fee of $18 will be charged if dogs are registered on-line. A $20 fee will be charged if dogs are registered at the event. Prizes will be awarded to winners of the talent, dance and costume competitions. Proceeds from the event will be split with Daphneyland Sanctuary. All dogs are required to stay on leash.
