Under the direction of Maestro Eduard Schmieder, the orchestra iPalpiti (ee-PAHL-pit-ee, Italian for "heartbeat") draws its members from prize-winning musicians of international competitions. iPalpiti has played to acclaim in leading concert halls throughout the world.

The annual International Laureates Festival - in Los Angeles/Beverly Hills each July since 1998 - takes place at various venues throughout the City, including UCLA, Beverly Hills' Greystone Mansion, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and culminates in an evening concert by the full orchestra in the Walt Disney Concert Hall, this summer on Saturday, July 26, 2008.

Twenty-four selected artists will arrive in Los Angeles from 19 countries on Monday, July 14, 2008. New this year, Rolling Hills United Methodist Church hosts an all-day rehearsal, open to the public from 2:30-4:30 p.m., and in the evening iPalpiti orchestra & soloists perform a Festival "Preview" - chamber-music and solo recital selections by the soloists, and a selection from its Walt Disney Concert Hall concert by the full iPalpiti orchestra.
