News from Elyse Bruce

I received this e-mail from my friend Tom about one of our favorite artists, Elyse Bruce, and her devotion to helping those with autism. I was sooo jazzed that I had to share it with you. Rock on, grrrl! ~M

Hi Mickie,

I thought I would drop you a line about Elyse Bruce and how she is doing.

A blurb appeared in MySask.com about the release of her "Countdown to Midnight" album.

http://tinyurl.com/6z42mg

"Elyse Bruce (currently residing in Ontario) has released a new twelve-track album, "Countdown to Midnight." The CD, which includes nods to several different genres, is part of "Midnight in Chicago", a tourism and culture initiative which aims to bring recognition to under-recognized visual artists while raising awareness and funds for Autism.'

Partially with the funds raised through the sale of her album, we have been able to produce a series of podcasts on autism which can be found here: http://www.mic.mypodcast.com/.

So far, over 1,300 people have downloaded these important podcasts on Autism Spectrum Disorders. Topics have included Autism, Asperger Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorders, AS and ASD Web Resources and Forum Communities, Autism on the Homefront, Autism and the Media, Autism and Bullying: Parts I & II, Autism and Vaccines: Parts I & II, and A Special Interview with Lewis Schofield.

In addition to Tony Attwood (check the reference websites section) perhaps the world's foremost authority on Asperger Syndrome and autism spectrum disorders, the following organizations have already linked to the Midnight In Chicago Autism Spectrum Podcasts:

Action for Autism (AFA) India

Autism New Zealand Inc.

Autism Society of America, Pima County (Tuscon Arizona) Chapter

Autism Society of Canada

Autism Society of Ohio

Irked Magazine.com is hosting two of these podcasts.

Research Autism UK

Tots2Tweens

And The Autism Society of America has listed us in their May newsletter.

Thanks Mickie, for letting your readership know about Elyse, her "Countdown to Midnight" album and how she is doing. By letting people know about her album, you have indirectly played a vital role in helping us to get the FACTS to the public about autism.

Feel free to post any of the info above. You may copy and paste from this letter if you so choose.
