Shimmy Showcase Sunday

GREETINGS to Dancers and Friends of the Sunday evening SHIMMY SHOWCASE at Coffee Haven!

Everyone is invited to come out, have a cup of Java, munch on something yummy and enjoy some really great dancing FOR FREE!

Below is our upcoming schedule for the next several Sundays at the Coffee Haven Internet Cafe in Long Beach. If you are a dancer interested in performing at an upcoming showcase, please check out the schedule below for open dates and then email us at

with the dates on which you'd like to perform.

The SHIMMY SHOWCASE begins at 7 p.m. at the COFFEE HAVEN in Long Beach (1708 E. Broadway -- 562-437-3785).

UPCOMING SHOWCASE CALENDAR

August 3: Alexiis presents the sixth ShimmyShowcase “Burning Bellies” program featuring Hipsy Gypsies, Estra, and Shirin. This is a really fun theme and we hope you’ll come down to Coffee Haven for some really “hot” dancing!

August 10: This promises to be another great Shimmyshowcase as coordinator Saviya brings back LIVE MUSIC by Fernan Cobian on Arabic Ude, accompanied by some live percussionists as well. The talented Tehani, Najma, Marguerite, and Richie will also dazzle you with their dancing.

August 17: Xandra is pleased to be presenting MaraLena with her students Jennifer and Emelia for this Shimmyshowcase.

August 24: Abraiha, Shimmyshowcase coordinator for this evening, is pleased to be introducing new dancers May and Mia and other performers yet to be determined. This means we still have an opening or two, so if you would like to perform, please contact us at ShimmyShowcase@yahoogroups.com

August 31: No Shimmyshowcase this Holiday weekend. Have a great Labor Day!

September 7: Saviya, Shimmyshowcase coordinator for this evening, is pleased to present Shimmyshowcase founder Katerina and the Kabuki Dolls, as well as former Shimmyshowcase coordinator Kashmir with live music! This will be a great program you won’t want to miss!

September 14: Alexiis presents Sylvia and students for another exciting Shimmyshowcase. We still have an opening or two for dancers, so if you would like to perform, please contact us at ShimmyShowcase@yahoogroups.com

Please allow time for parking to avoid missing any of the fun, so be sure to be at the coffee house well before 7:00 PM. We try not to start the show until everyone has settled with a tasty beverage.
