Pictured with me this week: my softball teammate Chief - pitcher, 1st baseman, and longball hitter; my friend Ed - king of the self portrait with a disposable camera - I think his record is 8 people in one shot; and my fellow oldies fan and juke box afficianado Wayne, who can name that tune in fewer notes than most people I know. One man - 3 names.
He also served in the U.S. Army in the 60's and retired from the U.S. Postal service after 31 years. So it's only fitting that we're celebrating his 60th Birthday Party at the American Legion Post 280 (in the 91107) this Saturday, July 26th with Pasadena's premiere Oldies and One-hit-wonder band Snotty Scotty & the Hankies! Sharing the stage and alternating sets will be the Hillbilly Hippie Rock band Horses on Astroturf, to complete the 60's Summer Dance theme.
The event is open to the public and admission is $10, which goes to the bands. $2 homemade chili and full no host bar available, proceeds benefitting the Sons of the American Legion's charity programs.
