THIS WEEK! August 28, 2008

guest deejay:
DJ BIG BANG (Arision, NYC)
Grown up in the Italian industrial area between Turin-Bologna-Milan started his adventure collecting jazz Italo- European records. In 1999 moved to London where he met up with long-time friend and vinyl-junkie Joe Davis from Far Out Recordings. His first single (Dribbling/Colours) under the name of Big Bang has been played by the major DJ's in the nu-jazz-electronic dance nation.

In 2000 he formed the record label Solaria, a club concept with a very bad jazz attitude, counting on it's side artists like Flytronix, Dj Venom, Marc Mac from 4 Hero, Defusion and many more. After that he started his on label called ARISION, where the first Big Bang album was released.

This imprint is more dedicated to the nu-jazz, broken beatz scene, rare jazz with a more focus eye on the roots of this genre. His first Lp "Arriving Soon", featured various old & nu - skool, artists from the scene. From the evergreen Earl Zinger, to the synhs-freak pianist Jessica Lauren, plus some of the most talented musicians in the Jazz scene: Neil Angilley from Snowboy and Hajime Yoshizawa on keyboards taking on the sophisticated cover of "Speak Low.”
The new Big Bang album, includes the collaboration of artists such as Nathan Haines, Rasiyah (Bugz In The Attic – Marc De Clive Lowe), Jessica Lauren, Neil Angilley & Davide Giovannini (Snowboy – Vertente ).

Early in the year the new single Big Bang 'Smile In Your Eyes' has been heavily championed by Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Bugz In The Attic, while 'Summer Fields' has been included in Gilles Peterson Radioshow - Worldwide Winners Part 1 for 2006 with the best tracks of the year so far. New remix have been prepared by the likes of 4Hero, Nicola Conte, Daz I Que (4 Bugz In The Attic), Cuica and many more are in the pipeline scheduled for early 2007.

The live of Big Bang is something amazing, recently has been taken the Jazz Cafe' in London by storm and many gigs have followed after that. In his spare time he tries to cultivate his hobbies of vintage trainers, japanese cloths and smoky jazz-boogie cuts, and the love for vinyl figures toys.
