Island Records Jon McLaughlin, whose video for his brand new single, “Beating My Heart” was added at VH1 this week, has been chosen to headline a series of shows at the Hard Rock Café in five different U.S. cities as part of this fall’s Pinktober campaign, an ongoing crusade that “is all about celebrating life, spreading awareness, and going pink in support of the fight against breast cancer,” as described in their vivid website, http://www.pinktober.org/.

All Tickets are priced $10, and are currently on-sale via Ticketweb and the Hard Rock Café. Confirmed Pinktober tour dates as of this writing comprise:
Chicago (September 29th
St Louis (September 30th)
Denver (October 1s)
Cleveland (October 4th)
Indianapolis (October 4th)

Meanwhile, the dedicated grass-roots following of American heartland singer-songwriter and pianist Jon McLaughlin has their sights set on the VH1 Top 20 Countdown results for “Beating My Heart,” which impacted at Hot AC and Top 40 radio formats in June. The new song was written by Jon McLaughlin and produced by John Fields, known for his recent chart-topping work with the Jonas Brothers, Lifehouse, and Brandi Carlile. The song is the first single from McLaughlin’s upcoming release OK NOW, out October 7th. The new album will also feature songwriting collaborations with Jason Reeves (Colbie Callait),Troy Verges (Kenny Chesney), Bret James (Carrie Underwood) and others.

Jon’s show-stopping live performance of “So Close,” his Oscar-nominated song from the Disney movie Enchanted, was seen worldwide during this year’s 80th annual Academy Awards ceremonies. The performance ignited into an astonishing 1,514% overnight sales increase at Amazon for Indiana, which took over the #1 spot on the Movers & Shakers chart.

Indiana, Jon McLaughlin’s first major label album, received maximum exposure on tours with Sara Bareilles last summer 2007, when he was named one of “The 10 Hot Guys of Summer” by US Weekly magazine, was seen performing on the CBS-TV daytime drama The Bold & The Beautiful, and was featured on NPR’s (National Public Radio) program “Weekend Edition,” which resulted in Indiana’s first skyrocket up the Amazon chart. Also that summer, Jon performed his first major Island single, “Beautiful Disaster” on NBC’s The Today Show, and on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Touring continued with Paolo Nutini in the fall, then climaxed with Kelly Clarkson on her 24-city North American tour, October through December.
