Q-Tip on tour in support of new release

Grammy award-winning hip-hop icon Q-Tip has taken The Renaissance to the charts, debuting at #11 on the Billboard 200, #3 on the Hip-Hop/R&B Albums chart, #2 on the Rap Album chart and #5 on the Top Digital Albums chart. The highly anticipated release is his first solo outing since 1999’s Amplified.

With immense praise from critics and fans alike, The Renaissance was worth the wait. Created with live musicians, select samples and guests such as Norah Jones, D’Angelo and Raphael Saadiq, the album is a versatile portrayal of a multi-talented artist at the top of his game.

Q-Tip stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman last week for his first nationally televised performance of new material- the J. Dilla produced track “Move.” Catch it online: http://video.umrg.com/qtip/lateshow/

Today, Q-Tip kicks off the 2K Sports Bounce Tour in San Francisco backed by his live band and EPMD’s DJ Scratch with supporting acts The Cool Kids and The Knux. Pacific Division and Janelle Monae will join select dates.
