Celebrity poker in Commerce to benefit Children's Institute Oct. 23

Celebrities and other high profile guests will wage their bets on Saturday afternoon, October 23, 2010, at the Commerce Casino, in support of Children’s Institute, Inc.’s (CII) work with children who are affected by community and family violence.

Top players have a chance to win a cash prize pool totaling more than $15,500, a seat at the 2011 World Poker Tour® Celebrity Invitational (priceless) and more.

WHO: Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Camryn Manheim will return as host of CII’s “Second Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament.” Manheim will be joined by other celebrities who have a passion to support families in need. Celebs who have already signed on include: Jason Alexander, Sean Astin, Hank Azaria, Brandon Beemer, Michael Bower, Gabrielle Carteris, Tony Denison, Farah Fath, Joely Fisher, Deirdre Hall, Cheryl Hines, Michael John, Ricki Lake, John-Paul Lavoisier, Chad Lowe, Jesse Metcalfe, Kathy Najimy, Kevin Nealon, Cheri Oteri, Erik Palladino, Mimi Rogers, Sara Rue, Tuc Watkins, as well as friends of Children’s Institute.

Last year event is a success. I hope that this year tournament would raised greater funds and hopefully more and more live and online casino players joined this kind of charity.
