Fresh off his two nominations at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards for his visually stunning “Symphonies” video, electro-pop performer DAN BLACK has confirmed a batch of fall headlining shows in Seattle, Reno, San Francisco and San Diego. The British singer and songwriter will kick things off with a performance at Austin City Limits on Saturday, October 9 and then wrap with a New York City show at Highline Ballroom on Tuesday, October 19 as part of this year’s CMJ Music Marathon.
Following his headlining shows, BLACK has also been confirmed to perform Saturday, October 16 at Southern California’s Cypress Hill SmokeOut in the festival’s new Massive Stoned Garden stage alongside the likes of deadmau5, Paul Oakenfold, Basement Jaxx, MGMT and others. Dan will also do two dates with pop star Ke$ha in Uncasville, CT on Saturday, October 23 and in Providence, RI on Tuesday, October 26 (see below for full dates).
A bourgeoning style setter, BLACK recently launched Fashion Week in NYC with a show at Bowery Ballroom. Wrote Bruce Pask, men’s fashion director of the New York Times’ T Magazine in anticipation, “I can’t wait to see Dan Black in concert…He’s an English singer/performer who just recently opened for Robyn and Kelis and is nominated for two VMA awards — for Best Breakthrough Video and Best Special Effects for his homage to cinema in ‘Symphonies,’ a song that features an infectious drum/high-hat beat not unlike that in Rihanna’s “Umbrella.”
VEVO.COM featured DAN BLACK on their homepage last week with exclusive videos from Irving Plaza in New York of “Symphonies” as well as the track “U + Me =.” Check them out at

About Dan Black:
Hailing from Great Britain, but currently residing in Paris, France, Dan Black came upon the music scene as the vocalist for alt-rockers the Servant. The dance-pop purveyor caught the ears of dance fans with his pop/rock/hip-hop stylings with the songs “Yours,” “HYPNTZ”—his mashup of lyrics from the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize” with samples from Rihanna’s “Umbrella”—and ((un))’s breakthrough first single “Symphonies” featuring Kid Cudi which garnered him critical praise in the press, with the New York Post stating, “[Dan Black] will give you that fizzle and sizzle your ears are yearning for." This summer Dan Black trekked across America with Robyn and Kelis on the All Hearts tour and appeared at Lollapalooza.
His new single “Alone” is out now at iTunes and Amazon and includes a video from Chic & Artistic, a remix by dubstep pioneer MJ Cole and a brand new b-side track “Liz And Johnny.”
