Photographer Tim Hailand to release books on Rufus Wainwright and Jake Shears

Following the success of One Day in The Life of DANIEL RADCLIFFE, New York-based photographer Tim Hailand continues his book series with music icons Rufus Wainwright and Jake Shears this February. Each book in the One Day in The Life of… series provides an intimate glimpse into the lives of celebrities through a unique insider’s perspective, exposing the daily lives of famous artists, musicians, athletes and others in the public eye.

One Day in The Life of RUFUS WAINWRIGHT follows the singer-songwriter from New York City to Boston for his performance at the Boston Opera House, which featured his sister Martha Wainwright as a special guest. With an intro by NYC nightlife legend Cherry Vanilla and text from Rufus himself, a portion of sales will benefit the Kate McGarrigle Fund for cancer research in honor of Rufus and Martha’s late mother.

Elton John provides the introduction for One Day in The Life of JAKE SHEARS, which follows the pop icon and Scissor Sisters frontman in London before the group’s performance at the O2 Academy Brixton. Jake also provides notes throughout detailing his thoughts on the day. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Of the series, Tim Hailand says: “The subjects that I choose to photograph are people that I genuinely admire. In this ‘One Day in The Life of…’ work, I'm striving to create images that are at once both raw and intimate, yet treat the subject with respect and integrity. It is my goal to reveal a beautiful or vulnerable side to the subject that has not been revealed before. We live in a media-saturated world, where respect and integrity seem to be undervalued qualities in relation to celebrities, yet our society seems to have a limitless appetite for ‘reality programming.’ I think we can have both closeness and quality, ‘realness’ and beauty.”

Both books will be available for a special pre-sale price of $30 exclusively on http://www.onedayinthelifeof.org/ before the February 22, 2011 release date. Books will be available for $35 after the release date on both http://www.onedayinthelifeof.org/ and http://www.amazon.com/. Copies of One Day in The Life of DANIEL RADCLIFFE are currently for sale on both sites.

About One Day in The Life of… Series:
Each celebrity journeys the reader through their day with a written personal account of the day’s events, unveiling the celebrity’s hidden thoughts, emotions and personal quirks. The One Day in The Life of… series succeeds at offering one of the most intimate and real portrayals of the lives we voyeuristically follow. Tim Hailand will continue his series in 2011 with One Day in The Life of GARETH THOMAS, highlighting the Welsh rugby star.
