PBS SoCal music programming in December

Thursday, Dec. 1, 7 p.m. – “Joe Bonamassa Live at Royal Albert Hall” – PREMIERE

Enjoy blues-rock star Joe Bonamassa’s headlining debut concert at London’s legendary venue, Royal Albert Hall.



Friday, Dec. 2, 9 p.m. – PBS Arts from New York: GREAT PERFORMANCES “Andrea Bocelli: Live in Central Park” – PREMIERE

Famed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli performs a free concert on the lawn in New York City’s Central Park. Accompanied by the New York Philharmonic, Bocelli also is joined by other notable artists including Céline Dion, Tony Bennett, Chris Botti and David Foster.




Saturday, Dec. 3, 6 p.m. – “Celtic Woman: Believe” – PREMIERE

Complemented by radiant visual and musical effects, this program showcases the international all-female vocal group Celtic Woman at a performance at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Ga.



Saturday, Dec. 3, 8 p.m. – “’60s Rock, Pop and Soul: My Music” – PREMIERE

Hosted by artists of the era Peter Noone and Davy Jones, this episode showcases musical performances from the 1960’s by popular performers such as Paul Revere & The Raiders, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, The Kingsmen, The Ventures and Question Mark & The Mysterians.



Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 p.m. – “Buddy Holly: Listen to Me- The Ultimate Buddy Party” – PREMIERE

PBS SoCal honors the 75th birthday of the late Buddy Holly with performances of his top hits by three generations of popular recording artists. Featured performers include Paul Anka, Michelle Branch, Cobra Starship (Victoria Asher and Gabe Saporta), Shawn Colvin, Chris Isaak, Lyle Lovett, Raul Malo, Graham Nash, Stevie Nicks, Boz Scaggs, Patrick Stump and Phil Everly.



Saturday, Dec. 3, 11:30 p.m. – “Paul Simon: Live at Webster Hall, New York” – PREMIERE

This special takes viewers to Webster Hall in New York City where they will take pleasure in the music of Paul Simon as he puts on a special concert for his hometown.
