Mnet to present concert in LA Dec. 2

Mnet, the only and first national, 24/7 English-language television network in the U.S. targeting Asian Americans and fans of Asian pop culture, is bringing the biggest stars in Korean Hip Hop to Los Angeles with the musical showcase “The Jungle Concert in L.A.,” the first U.S. concert under the newly launched M-Live by CJ, at The Wiltern on Friday, December 2 at 8 p.m. In their first joint concert, Jungle Entertainment artists, Drunken Tiger, Yoon Mirea, Lee Ssang, Bizzy and Jung In, will descend on the monumental Koreatown venue to showcase K-pop music for an American audience. “At Mnet we bring the latest news and music videos from the hottest groups in K-pop to the fans here in America, and now M-Live by CJ will be bringing these talented artists to concert venues around the world,” said Adam Ware, Acting President & CEO of Mnet. “We are very excited to bring these international stars to Los Angeles to further introduce Americans to Korean pop music, a genre that is gaining popularity throughout the world.”



Mnet will further bring the performances and exclusive behind the scenes content to viewers across America by capturing every moment of “The Jungle Concert in L.A.” for a special television segment that will air later this season on their K-pop television series, “Hello Pop!”



The newly launched M-Live by CJ concert brand is a partnership between CJ E&M (CJ Entertainment & Media) and some of Korea’s music labels and talent agencies that will bring Korean pop music concerts to venues around the world to introduce various musical talents of K-pop to major cities everywhere.



Drunken Tiger is Tiger JK, a Korean American from Los Angeles and one of the most influential and central pioneers of Korea’s mainstream hip-hop scene. He debuted his first album in 1999 and has since released eight albums. Since his debut he has won many prestigious awards including 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards (Best Male Artist of the Year) and 2008 Korean Music Awards (Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year – Artist). Tiger JK’s legendary status extends beyond South Korea as he was recently listed as one of “10 Hot International Hip Hop Artists that You Need to Know” by Rolling Out Magazine, one of the most influential African-American lifestyle magazines in the U.S. He is currently the C.E.O of Jungle Entertainment and is married to fellow hip hop artist, Yoon Mi Rae.



Yoon Mi Rae, known as the Queen of Soul, is one of the leading female hip-hop/R&B/soul singers in Korea. She was recently selected for “The World Best Female Rapper Top 12” by MTV Iggy, a site for global indie music. Since her debut, she has released six albums, including one best album and five digital singles total. She is also a judge on Mnet Korea’s music competition series, “Superstar K3.”



Lee Ssang is a Korean hip hop duo comprised of Gary (“Kang Hee-gun”) and Gill (“Gill Seong-joon”), who debuted in 2002. Their most recent album, “AsuRA BalBalTa” hit number one on the various music charts as soon as it was released this summer. The title song on the album, “I Turned Off the TV” has reached number one on the Billboard K-pop hot 100.



Bizzy is a rising rapper who released his first album in 2008.



Jung In is a Korean R&B female singer known for her outstanding vocal talent. She debuted on Lee Ssang’s song, “Rush,” in 2002 and has since collaborated with various artists. She released her first album in 2010.
