Caveman at the Echo in LA Dec. 8

After a big year in which Caveman gained instant praise for their live shows and recorded songs alike, their 10-track debut album CoCo Beware is self-released on CD and vinyl today via their own label Magic Man! Records / ORG Music. The New York Times reviewed the debut here, saying:“The deliberate soft focus lends depth and an air of mystery to what might have been cool-headed, straightforward indie-rock; there are echoes of the Feelies, the Strokes and, somewhere in the distance, the Beach Boys.”

Besides being passionate about their music, Caveman’s five gentlemen each bring their own craft and identity to the band’s table. Proud New Yorker Matt Iwanusa is the main singer songwriter, as well as adding percussion/drums to the band on record and live on stage. Guitarist Jimmy “Cobra” Carbonetti is born and raised on New York’s Roosevelt Island and has been designing his hand-made Cobra Guitars from scratch for a couple of years now. Together with native Manhattanite Stefan Marolachakis (drums), Jeff Berrall (bass), and Sam Hopkins (synths), they form a tight knit group of proud New Yorkers who, when talking to Fader Magazine said: “The genre of music is hang out.”

The band will embark on their first ever West Coast run, stopping in Los Angeles on December 8th at the Echo, with additional dates in Seattle and San Francisco soon to be announced. In the short time Caveman have been together, they’ve grown from opening up for White Rabbits, Wye Oak and Yuck at the Bowery Ballroom, to announcing their own headlining show at the venue on January 20th 2012.

Caveman's 10-song debut is produced by Nick Stumpf (French Kicks) and shows front man Matt Iwanusa's ability to craft melodies and lyrics which tackle topics of life and love, reflections on hope and joy, as well as moody observations -- all sung in grandiose four-part harmonies, wrapped in timeless melodies.
