This week, Billboard magazine announced the finalists in its inaugural “Billboard Concert Marketing & Promotion Award.” The Jägermeister Mobile Stage rocked its way into the running and is among the six finalists.
Jägermeister’s nomination puts it up against some huge competition, including Verizon Wireless, BlackBerry, Jeep, and U.S. Cellular. The Jägermeister Mobile Stage was recognized for its innovation and reach.
Says Billboard, “The $1 million Jägermeister Mobile Stage served as the all-important second stage on Ozzfest in 2007, where an estimated 500,000 people saw bands rock hard on Jäger’s dime. Jägermeister not only supplied the stage but also the lighting, backline, PA and an experienced crew that runs it. In some cases, venues would add Jägermeister to their product offering just because the stage was coming. Overall, Jägermeister’s involvement with live music sponsorship has helped the company more than triple North American sales in less than a decade.”
Billboard is the world’s most trusted source of music, video and digital entertainment news, charts, reviews and analysis. The six finalists, chosen by a panel of Billboard journalists and industry experts, are nominated for a sponsorship or promotion that achieved its marketing goals in a quantifiable way, benefited the concert industry at large by stimulating live event attendance and provided a value to music fans.
The award winner will be determined by online voting at Billboard.com, Billboard.biz or at www.billboard.com/touringpoll. The award will be presented on November 15 at the Billboard Touring Awards, which honor the concert industry’s top artists and professionals based on data compiled through the Billboard Boxscore chart. The Billboard Touring Awards are a part of the 2007 Billboard Touring Conference, which will be held on November 14 and 15 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
