Mighty Mighty Bosstones to release new effort and play on New Years Eve

After an almost 4 year hiatus the best dress band from Boston-- Dicky Barrett-Vocals, Joe Gittleman-Bass, Ben Carr-The Bosstone, Joe Sirois-Drums, Tim Burton-Saxophone, Roman Fleysher - Saxophone, Chris Rhodes-Trombone and Lawrence Katz-Guitar are back with that infectious brand of fun only the Bosstones can deliver. The upcoming release from the MMB’s is indeed a DIY effort produced by Bosstone bass player Joe Gittleman “Medium Rare” is filled with new tracks co-written by Barrett and Gittleman as well as unreleased material and only released as Vinyl b-sides. Fittingly, the band has returned once again to its roots deciding to release it on independent label Big Rig Records December 2008.

December 2008 is shaping up to be a Mighty Mighty Bosstones fans dream as the band is also back with the HOMETOWN THROWDOWN (already sold-out) at The Middle East, kicking off on Wednesday December 26 thru Sunday December 30 for a five night stand as well as a New Years Eve date-details coming soon.

The HOMETOWN THROWDOWN--Boston’s biggest party of the holiday season featuring plastic Santa’s, dancing Menorah’s and a holiday themed backdrop adorning the stage, a hard hitting, horn-driven, action packed five days of anthemic ska-punk delivered with care and conviction by THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES as well as many other music performances, you never really know whose going to show up.
