Stars of Track and Field at the Roxy NOv. 6

WHO: With an intriguing chemistry of digital and analog tones and layered vocals, Stars of Track and Field have crafted an original style on their first full-length album, “Centuries Before Love and War.” From a band that “echoes Radiohead and Coldplay” (Billboard, January 2007), Stars’ newest album is a masterpiece, utilizing a cutting edge formula containing elements from the history of rock while embracing the digital technology of the future. The Portland band’s newest album contains bittersweet odes to love loss and ill-fated memory. Within the fabric of current events overseas, the album works not only as an impressive debut for its musical value, but for its timely social commentary.
The New York Post calls them “a little bit poppy, a little bit dreamy - all together amazing” – Stars of Track and Field craft breathtaking tunes that will surely impress fans of old and new rock alike.
WHAT: Stars of Track and Field start their first headlining tour across the U.S. in October, giving audiences a taste of what their new album is all about. The band’s unique style, sans bass player, makes for a rock act like no other.
