LISTINGS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

JOHN YOUNG...
John Young (solo) Keyboards & vocal (all original material)
Ex Asia / John Wetton keyboardsman brings his own version of English classic rock to the West Coast for the first time. If you are a little fed up with banal lyrics and songs bereft of musical content then perhaps this is just the tonic you need.
John has worked with a whole host of major artists, written for everyone from Jon Anderson to CNN and guested with Jimmy and Robert as well as George and Ringo. Combine all this with stories from the road, some typical English humour and a deep concern for the overuse of words such as 'eclectic'!
JY writes from the soul his aim is to touch you (musically and lyrically :-) from tears to smiles even to the hairs on your arms and the back of your neck (remember that!).In a world dominated by words like celebrity and reality John chooses to keep faith with music rather than the music business.
The solo show starts off fairly acoustically but does end up being pretty powerful and if you are a fan of Genesis, Kevin Gilbert, Yes, Porcupine Tree, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Supertramp and the like then this should be right up your street. John will also regale you with the odd tale from the tourbus he has played with Asia, The Scorpions, Paul Rodgers, Greenslade,Qango, Fish and Bonnie Tyler (to name a few) , has written for everyone from Jon Anderson to C.N.N.! and has guested with Jimmy and Robert as well as George and Ringo...

Plus...MICHAEL ANN AND THE OZARK MOUNTAIN THRUSH...
Michael Ann's initial musical roots took place in the Ozarks of Missouri, where she would go to a friends family's house every weekend for 10 years and play music! It was there she learned her current style, and is quite grateful for such a past...
She has performed with the likes of: Ricky Skaggs, Harry Browning, and other illustrious performers! Michael Ann has toured with an original musical out of New York called: Woody Guthrie's American Song. She has also sung on various artists records, as well as been a part of several compilations. Currently, she is joined by: Shawn Cunnane (on mandolin and guitar), and Justin Carney (on upright bass). Together they are: The Ozark Mountain Thrush! They are currently touring all over California and the Western states, and will have a new cd released in the next several months, so STAY TUNED!
WEDNESDAY, February 27. Showtime: 8:00 P.. M. Tickets: $15

NATHAN McEUEN TRIO...
Nathan grew up in and around the Rocky Mountains, surrounded by incredible music and talented musicians. At an early age, he started performing with his father, John McEuen, and brother, Jonathan McEuen. Undoubtedly, the family has powerfully shaped his musical inclinations and style, but his influences and pursuits span much farther. The best word to describe Nathan is collaborator.
"Collaborate is a good word," he says. "I like working with other talented people. We have more fun, and the end result is always better."
As a singer/songwriter, he constructs universal, nostalgic melodies and lyrics. His study and mastery of several instruments, including guitar, piano, drums and bass, allow him great compositional range. He also has the very rare and entertaining gift of beat-boxing. This comes in handy when he's playing without a rhythm section.
In February of 2003, Nathan moved from Salt Lake City, Utah, to southern California to advance his music career. Within a year, he had enough material to begin recording and cut a demo under his own label, Lint Records. An independent record producer, Randall Richman, immediately offered Nathan a deal to complete his first solo album. He accepted the offer and got down to business - the album, Grand Design, will release in October 2005, followed by a national tour.
Over the next five years, he plans to complete several more records and continue collaborating with various artists. He then hopes to expand his talents to film with writing, scoring and composition and eventually become a producer. For Nathan, it's all about entertainment, stirring emotion - making people feel good and happy to be alive.
THURSDAY, February 28. Showtime: 8:00 P.M. Tickets: $15.
