Chiodos on tour and getting notice

Currently on an U.S. arena tour with Linkin Park and Coheed and Cambria, CHIODOS is rising on the buzz-meter. The first single “Lexington (Joey Pea-Pot With a Monkey Face)”—taken from their top five album BONE PALACE BALLET (Equal Vision)--arrives at radio the first week of March while the video for the song--directed by Josh Graham (Dillinger Escape Plan, Isis, Saves The Day, Underoath)--will debut in the coming weeks.

Catch CHIODOS--before each Linkin Park date--conducting daily fan signings for the Music For Relief organization (www.musicforrelief.org). In more touring news, the Flint, MI-based group —hailed for “tricky tight turns and unashamedly showy bombast” (Brian McCollum, Detroit Free Press, live review, 12/1/07) --will continue to blaze a trail across the U.S. in the coming months. They’ll hit the SXSW festival in Austin on Friday, March 14 at La Zona Rosa with Paramore for the Hot Topic Showcase and then Emo’s (outdoor stage) for the Alternative Press magazine party on Saturday, March 15. On March 29, they’ll join Pennywise, Nonpoint and others for the eXtreme Thing 2008 at Desert Breeze State Park in Las Vegas. The group is also confirmed to perform at both the Bamboozle Left at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, CA April 6 and the Bamboozle Festival at Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Saturday, May 3. In between the Bamboozle dates, CHIODOS will launch a U.S. and Canadian headlining tours with rotating support acts joining the band including: MxPx, The Color Fred, Protest the Hero, The Fall of Troy, From First To Last and Drop Dead Gorgeous among others.

The cutting-edge CHIODOS--CRAIG OWENS (vocals), BRADLEY BELL (keyboards), PAT McMANAMAN (guitar), MATT GODDARD (bass), JASON HALE (guitar) and DERRICK FROST (drums)--is proving to be an unstoppable force on the road as their breakthrough second album BONE PALACE BALLET continues to gain both critical and fan awareness after entering the Billboard Top 200 Chart at a spectacular #5 and selling over 128,000 copies to date. An artistic leap forward for the band, the wildly eclectic BONE PALACE BALLET’s standout songs represent an artistic leap forward from their critically acclaimed 2005 debut All’s Well That End’s Well, which has sold over 200,000 copies.

Look for the group to announce their new fanclub dubbed “Chiobra Kai”--an homage to the cult film The Karate Kid--in the coming weeks.
