Clazzical Notes Presents "The Jazz Singer and the Diva" at Caltech
The Pasadena Symphony's Clazzical Notes program will present "The Jazz Singer and the Diva" on Monday, March 24, at 7 p.m. in Caltech's Ramo Auditorium. The featured artists for this event are soprano Jamie Chamberlain, jazz singer Yvette Freeman, and moderator Suzanne Guzmán.
Chamberlain is becoming one of the premiere singing actresses of her generation, most recently being granted the Special Encouragement Award at the 2007 MONC Western Regional Finals.Freeman won a second Ovation Award and NAACP Award for her performance in the play Dinah Was and has had numerous roles on stage, television, and in feature films.
Guzmán was cast in the title role of Bizet's opera Carmen, which became her signature role, and has since appeared in major opera houses and concert stages.
