After years in successful musical teams, Sharon Gosler is now ready to stride into her own spotlight; and with her debut solo recording, Shine on Me, she doesn't fail to illuminate.
Sharon has been playing the piano and singing for as long as she can remember; fronting her first band at age of only 12. Since then this naturally gifted performer has embarked on a musical journey which has seen her undertake conservatory training for classical voice and a degree at Berklee College of Music. However, a real love of contemporary music led Sharon to become the lead vocalist of a rock band and eventually a global theatrical success in musicals such as Hair.
With the release of Shine on Me, the attention is now fully on Sharon and for the first time it is possible to hear this remarkable talent stripped back, bare and beautiful. The rich velvety tone of her voice has such clarity and depth that it is easy to understand why she has been compared to the queen of the divas herself, Shirley Bassey. By combining the vocal power of soulstress Anastasia and emotional profundity of Carol King, Sharon Gosler is singer who appeals to those of all ages and nationalities.
On an album which encompasses blues, soul and pop, Sharon sounds effortless as she embraces a range of styles in a totally accessible way. Her songs are warm and mellow, cutting straight to the heart with a consistent emotional sensitivity which is a rarity in music today. Her solid piano playing and sumptuous voice have been pulled together by some wonderfully polished production work to craft an album which is timeless.
Already a finalist in song writing competitions in the UK, Holland and the US, Sharon is an artist with an established talent and a promising future. Her music is being recognised worldwide and can be heard on Canada's Violet Femmes compilation album. Most recently her music has gained an award from Broadjam.com and has been remixed on an Acid Planet recording, in conjunction with Sony. However to hear the full, unadulterated purity of Sharon Gosler then Shine on Me in now available from itunes.com and cdbaby.com
