N.Y. Oil releases new video with new effort due out in July

Channeling both the creativity and controversy of the original video (that was previously banned from YouTube), N.Y.Oil unveils a brand new visual interpretation of his infamous track “Y’All Should All Get Lynched.”

N.Y.Oil has built a grassroots following for candidly (and confrontationally) tackling issues that are all too frequently publicly ignored: the state of hip-hop music and its deplorable effect upon a culture crying out for a realignment of values. Set to a dizzying animated backdrop replete with iconography recalling generations of racial inequalities, N.Y. Oil, like Public Enemy and contemporaries such as Immortal Technique, reflects a burgeoning movement of emcees and artists that call attention to a generation complicit in the perversion of their own culture and, inevitably, the reinforcement of age-old stereotypes under the guise of “entertainment.”

For those thirsting for more, N.Y. Oil has also released a “teaser” of what to expect from July 8th’s 2 disc deluxe edition of his debut LP “Hood Treason” on Babygrande Records. Chuck D. of Public Enemy cameos (on both the trailer and the album) as the narration details the backdrop of what’s sure to be 2008’s watershed hip-hop release.
