Join Culture Shock for a free dance J.A.M. Session

Culture Shock LA Dance Troupe presents “Hip Hop Shock” A FREE J.A.M. SESSION Event at theFord Amphitheatre July 7 at 7p.m.

The 4 Elements of Hip Hop Taught to All Ages and Skill Levels

What: The highly charged hip hop dance troupe Culture Shock LA Dance Troupe presents “Hip Hop Shock,” the 4th installment of the Ford Amphitheatre’s Free JAM Sessions. Dancers, DJs, Graffiti and Spoken Word artists of all ages and all skill levels gather to sample these electrifying elements of hip hop.

Who: Culture Shock LA Dance Troupe is a non-profit, community outreach Hip Hop dance organization. Founded in 1993 by Nike Fitness Trainer, Angie Bunch in San Diego , CA , Culture Shock works to educate dancers, students and audiences about the rich history of Hip Hop, its cultural relevance and relation to other art forms. They use urban dance forms to involve underserved populations in the arts and work to showcase these forms with the same professional artistry and respect given to other styles of dance.

Through development of community partnership with other art and service organizations, Culture Shock LA continues to expand the depth and scope of its programs, bringing dance and visual arts training to children and adults throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Culture Shock consists of dancers from diverse backgrounds who are trained in a variety of street dance styles. Staying true to the Hip Hop culture, the company is grouped into four different crews – Lockin’, Poppin’, Breakin’ and Commercial Hip Hop.

The “Jazzed and Motivated” J.A.M. Session events are part of the Ford Amphitheatre 2008 Season, a multi-disciplinary arts series produced by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission in cooperation with Los Angeles County-based arts organizations. Presented by the Ford Theatre Foundation, these sessions are designed to channel participant’s creative energies and release the artist within.
