Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world’s largest bookseller, today announced that the Gregorian Masters of Chant CD Gregorian Masters of Chant and DVD Live At Kreuzenstein Castle, will be available nationwide on Curb Records exclusively at Barnes & Noble stores and online at Barnes & Noble.com (www.bn.com) starting July 29.

Internationally, the Gregorian Masters of Chant have released nine albums and five DVDs in seven years, and have had major chart success and numerous gold and platinum awards. They have sold more than four million copies all over Europe, Singapore, Japan and South Africa, and are now bringing their unique brand of music to America.

Frank Peterson, whose production credits include Sarah Brightman, Ofra Haza, José Carreras, Alannah Myles, Placido Domingo, Andrea Bocelli and Marky Mark, created the idea of the Masters of Chant, by fusing pop and choral music, performed by ten classically trained singers. Peterson has been pursuing his vision of a harmonic fusion of pop and choral music ever since 1999.

"Years ago, I visited the Escorial Royal Monastery in Spain," said Peterson. "I was listening to rock music on a walkman but suddenly some unusual sounds got mixed in: a monastic choir sang Gregorian chants in the hall next door."

"We are very excited to be a part of this project with Frank Peterson and the Gregorian Masters of Chant,” said Chuck Gorman vice president of Music and Video for Barnes & Noble Booksellers. “We've found the music to be extremely moving and passionate and are excited to bring it to our customers exclusively."

Incorporating well-known classic songs with a new sound transporting the listener into the timeless world of Gregorian chant, the Gregorian Masters of Chant CD includes: “Brothers In Arms,” “Tears In Heaven,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Close My Eyes Forever,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Heroes” and more.
