Pianists Haas and Gennet to perform

Forget jazz, classical and the softer side of piano music. The true power of the piano is yet untapped and Brian Haas and Robbie Gennet are about to crack it open.

Tulsa, OK native Haas, a truly astounding visionary on the acoustic piano, has led the critically-acclaimed Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey through over a decade of boundary-crushing improvisational music and innovative compositions spanning 14 albums and appearances at major jazz festivals worldwide.

Award-winning piano player/songwriter Gennet has created Pianarchy, a unique chaos theory opening the final doors to the fringes of musical possibility on acoustic piano.

Gennet and Haas will perform 4 hands on one piano and conjure the explosive live debut of Pianarchy, something you won't want to miss!

Gennet will start the evening with the debut of the Robbie Gennet Trio, featuring drummer Ryan Brown, bassist Chris Guertin and Gennet on grand piano. Gennet will feature the upbeat, hooky pop/rock that he's mined in his bands Rudy, Rabbithead and The Robbie Gennet Band and set the bar ever higher for piano in rock and roll. This will be Gennet's first band show in three years and a rousing re-entry to the Los Angeles music scene.

Following the RG Trio, Haas will join Gennet at the piano for the debut of Pianarchy live onstage. Four agile hands, two wide open minds and one grand piano will conspire to erase the boundaries of what can, could or should be done and paint a new picture of piano in the 21st Century. This will be a genre-busting, mind-melting musical experience unlike any you've seen before.

Closing the night will be the magical musical trip of the Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, a visionary trio that has mutated into a genre all it's own. Haas is joined by bassist/pedal demon Reed Mathis and drummer Josh Raymer to perform the evolution of their latest record, Little Tae Rides Again. Every time Jacob Fred performs live, they once again escape from any definition or label.

Their tour is garnering great reviews and they are playing some legendary venues and events, including the Newport Jazz Festival this past Saturday August 9th and the Lincoln Center in NYC this Wednesday August 13th.

DJ Jeremy Soles will fill in the gaps all night with some delicious vinyl spinning grooves for the booty and mind. He will also be guesting with the JFJO during their set.

This will be a blazing night of pianistic thrills not to be missed! For more information, the bands websites are listed below.
