Big Head Todd and the Monsters to perform at Snow Daze

Vail Snow Daze, the country’s largest early season mountain bash, returns December 8-14, 2008 featuring three nights of headliner music opening with Big Head Todd and the Monsters live in concert Thursday, December 11, 2008. The Snow Daze event offers a super charged mix of non-stop music, on-snow events, Demo Daze and a wide variety of après and after-dark parties.

“We’re thrilled to host Colorado blues rockers Big Head Todd and the Monsters as Vail Snow Daze’s opening musical performance,” said James Deighan of Highline Sports & Entertainment, which produces the festival. “Vail hasn’t seen Big Head Todd and the Monsters in a public show since 2001, making their return a must-see concert.”

Boulder-born band Big Head Todd and the Monsters will take center stage at Vail’s Dobson Arena Thursday at 7:00 p.m. With seven studio albums and among The Indie 100’s “Performing Songwriter’s 100 Most Influential Independent Artists of the Past 15 Years” list released in June 2008, Big Head Todd and the Monsters are undoubtedly an iconic musical performing group, especially here in Colorado where they regularly sell out at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The distinctive voice and inventive mix of blues, punk and rock of lead singer Todd Park Mohr are certain to captivate a crowd of varying musical interests.

“As the premier early season party, Snow Daze helps make Vail the premier ski and snowboard destination in North America,” said Jeff Brausch of Highline Sports & Entertainment. "We’re pumped to bring a legendary Colorado band like Big Head Todd and the Monsters on board to an already bustling week of on-snow activities and parties.”
