Wicked Lit play readings offered during Pasadena ArtTalk

The Nom de Guerre Theatre Guild (Paul Millet, President) announced that two Wicked Literature play readings will be featured as part the Pasadena Playhouse District Association’s ARTtalk celebration of the written word.

The two stage adaptations include The Monkey’s Paw by W.W. Jacobs, and the debut of Pigeons from Hell by Robert E. Howard. Both adaptations were written by Jeff G. Rack. Pigeons from Hell marks the first adaptation written for the 2009 Wicked Literature Play Reading Series to be held in the fall. The story’s author, Robert E. Howard, is best known as the creator of the character Conan the Barbarian.

In addition, both play readings will also feature veteran television actor Michael Forest whose career spans fifty years and includes appearances on such classic programs as The Twilight Zone and Star Trek.

"We’re excited to once again partner up with the Playhouse District Association to present Wicked Lit to the public." said Paul Millet, the festival’s creator and producing artistic director. "Our readings at Pasadena Playhouse during ArtWalk last October were a huge hit, and we’re looking for more of the same in 2009."

ARTtalk will be produced by the Pasadena Playhouse District Association on Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 11am – 5pm, with the Wicked Lit readings starting at 2pm. The event will be presented at the Boston Court Performing Arts Center located at 70 N. Mentor Avenue, Pasadena CA 91106. The scope of Wicked Literature involves the creation of new stage adaptations of classic literature in the thriller genre. Wicked Lit debuted last October as a region-wide play reading series that included 13 dates at venues stretching from Anaheim to Moorpark.
